Jupiter Neptune Shadows

Art: The Rites of Isis by Tessa Mythos

On April 12th Jupiter Came into a once in a lifetime conjunction with Neptune at 23 degrees Pisces. The last time the world experienced this particular alignment was 1856. While this can be an extremely spiritual and womblike energy, like all things on this plane of existence, it does have a shadow side. Read on….

It’s All Necessary

From an evolutionary perspective, it’s ALL NECESSARY.

The war, the distortion, the unconsciousness, the violence, the hunger, the wanting, along with the kindness, generosity, and expansive beauty.

We can look at the world and think “this is wrong, it shouldn’t be this way”. The contrast of that knowing allows us to attune our path. So that we can evolve. Just because something is wrong, and we’d like to change it, doesn’t mean it isn’t necessary.

Everything is for OUR evolution. Everything and everyone has a karmic contract. That we will likely never fully understand.

It takes a lot of hubris to think we know better for others what their soul contracts are.

That’s why the urge to rescue people from themselves, or their circumstances can be problematic.

As a mother, I have a front row seat to playing in this dynamic. At what point is my helping, interfering with my children’s contracts?

What I’ve learned is that it’s probably safe to get involved when their desire is high for help if…

1.) I see them take the lead on solving their own problem.

2.) I don’t invest more in their solution then they invest in themselves.

It’s really hard not to help people when you see them suffering. Our culture has told us that it’s unchristian and unkind. And that pattern is wound deeply within us.

My mother, my kids grandmother, whom I dearly love, has stunted my adult children’s growth with her constant rescuing when the children ask for it.

And in so doing, she has reinforced their powerlessness. Rather than allowing them to struggle and evolve, by doing it on their own.

Remember, in the process of metamorphosis, the newly formed Butterfly MUST struggle to open the cocoon in order to have the strength to open their wings and fly. If we assist the Butterfly in opening the cocoon, they do not survive.

THIS IS THE PROCESS OF EVOLUTION

It’s a nuanced topic, and being inside of it feels like walking a tightrope.

It requires that we hold immaculate space for the unfolding of evolution, while feeling into when it is for us to be involved, and when it isn’t.

We have to consider, is this assistance of real value to the person’s evolutionary journey? Or am I rescuing? Reinforcing their lack of power, thus obstructing their path.

I personally think the archetype of Rescuer is one of the MOST insidious to deal with. Because they move under the guise of “love”.

With the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in Pisces finally upon us, we need to watch the tendency to put on rose colored glasses and “love” in ways that do not serve. This transit has a beautiful energy. An energy that points us to states of spiritual ecstasy and oneness. It can blur the lines, and soften our boundaries.

While this transit is taking place, Saturn is squaring the Nodal axis telling us we need to continue to use our discernment and judgement to navigate through the world. In fact, it’s more imperative under the Jupiter Neptune transit, when we are more likely to but into illusion, and fantasy, desiring to escape.

Damascena Tanis

Damascena is an Archetypal Astrologer, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and The Facilitator of the Transformative Journey through the Mandala of Venus’ Wisdom, called “Sky Dancer”.

She is a passionate devotee of the ever unfolding mystery. As an expert observer, a trait she developed as an only child, she regards herself as both a student of life, and decoder of the cosmos.

Skilled at recognizing invisible patterns, and picking up on subtle shifts in the collective, she gets a thrill from uncovering and revealing the hidden threads that are woven together to create our paradigm.

Her passion for this existential detective work aligns well with her unique approach to one on one client work, as she helps others to discover the building blocks of their archetypal blueprint, and mythic overtones. She does not believe that astrology is static, and therefore works with clients to develop strategies and practices that allow them to transcend challenging aspects of their natal chart.

She lives on the Shores of Lake Erie with her husband, four kids, and Cat, Oscar (the grouch).

These days, when she isn’t interpreting a natal chart, or translating the stars for her astrology blog, you can find her engaging in one of her favorite pandemic pastimes, unraveling her inner “good girl”, cultivating the ability to thrive in the deep, dark, unknown, or playing her favorite game of identifying fun paradoxes called “two things are true at once”.
