Venus and Moon meet at the Earth Star Chakra
The Venus-Waning Moon Conjunction is exact today, August 25 at 8:50 pm EST at 17 degrees Leo. This is the final visible conjunction of Venus' current Morning Star phase.
This is the Eighth Gate of Descent, happening just above Venus journey’s below the Horizon into the Underworld where she travels between 60-90 days on the far side of the Sun. From our perspective on Earth, we will not see her until her Helical Rise in December. It is also when we feel Venus’ energy on Earth, the least.

In moments of grief & despair it is the Earth Star Chakra I work with most frequently.
The Earth Star Chakra is not related to the self grounding we do in the root chakra. The grounding has to do with our connection to safety. And how well we can find that within ourselves.
Rather the Earth Star Chakra is what sustains us, the womb/tomb, what nourishes us within the wider connection to the web of life. It reveals our relationship to our receptivity & generosity within our eco system.
Think about a time you’ve experienced a tragedy. Have you not been called into nature. I know for me, I NEED to spend the time outdoors every day lest I get squirmy. My body becomes jittery, and I feel compelled to stretch and move.
She reveals that there is a kind of symbiosis that wants to happen between us and the land. When we meet skin to skin with the earth, we are able to discharge excess energy, or pull in energy if there is a deficit. In other words this practice has a balancing effect. AND it’s effortless. We activate the earth Star chakra simply by being in nature.
She is the Archetype of Grandmother Spider, or the Norns, who spins the web of incarnation.
What themes does she govern?
Trust, she teaches us to trust the ever unfolding mystery.
About the importance of impurity and cross pollination.
She is a soil story.
The story of a weaver..
-She governs our capacity to be in a state of rest vs collapse.
Where rest is nourishing and restorative, and collapse is being buried, disconnected from a network of co-regulation.
-Our relationship to nourishment, receptivity, and effective communication within our network, along with all that is currently manifest in our 3-D world.
-And Symbiosis, how well do we blend into our wider ecosystem? Is there a healthy balance of give and take? Are we contributing members of society in a meaningful way? Do we have healthy community? As these things are all a vital part of our well-being.
All of these and more are inquiries that are alive in this gateway.
