Siren Podcast
In this episode, I speak with Blaire Lindsey for her podcast Siren.
Siren explores an inquiry around whether or not motherhood can be a portal to deepened sexuality. It explores how our sexual aliveness serves the path of motherhood. And why are they are often so separate?
This conversation came about because I have spoken to the reality that pure, heart cracked open grief, opens us up to more Eros and aliveness.
During our time together, we explored how often grief arises at the birth portal, and how actually being present with that grief, deepens our experience of motherhood.
Blaire held a deeply reverent space for our conversation to unfold. It was one of those convos I left feeling as though I learned something new about myself.
HERE’S WHAT SHE WRITES ABOUT THE EPISODE…
“In this episode, we also speak about:
-how mothering can continue beyond the veil and what that looks like for Damascena
-vulnerability and what it's like to share the deepest parts of ourselves online
-opening to eros through grief
-the patterns that stop us from grieving fully
-motherhood and grief
-grief as aliveness
-birth as a roadmap to teach us how to grieve
-what we can learn from the ancient practice of keening
This is an intimate conversation that had us both in tears.
Damascena's writing has been a heart-opening resource for me since becoming a mother, including and especially anything she writes about her son Tanner, losing him, and her journey with grief.
Witnessing the depth of love for her son and her devotion to the frequency and archetype of Mother has been truly breathtaking for me.
I also have a big a-ha! moment in real-time and we honor Damascena's son, Tanner in various ways throughout”
I loved it and I think you will, too.
