A Symbolic Commentary, Saturn and The British Crown
SATURN & THE BRITISH CROWN
A SYMBOLIC COMMENTARY
The role of the Monarchy, as the “symbolic branch of government” is really interesting.
When we add a mediation on what a fourth branch of government *cσυℓ∂ be, we see it’s potential to act as a force for good if used properly.
Just like the Symbol of Saturn in an astrology chart, (which is an archetype of this monarchy) we can see how the symbol of “Queen”, the steadfastness, tradition, national identity, communal values, eye on conservation, if used to its highest potential, could add much needed balance to a government.
The way that a Prime Minister, representative of elected government, is required to have a weekly confessional with God’s representative on Earth, sworn protector of its constitution, land, and people, could help to ensure ethical administration of their duties.
In the show “The Crown”, we saw a fictional version of Queen Elizabeth II give a much deserved dressing down to Winston Churchill for keeping pertinent information from her, which could have endangered the people. Pointing to how this position has potential to be a force for good when wielded towards Saturn’s highest, Libran, Ideals.
However, likewise, all archetypal symbols have their shadow sides. With Saturn, it can be rigidity, control, authority with a sense of being removed from humanity, and placed on “high”. As well as a symbol of the “old guard”, which has totally fallen out of favor in recent years. (With good reason)
It will be fascinating to watch how the monarchy either transforms itself, or dissolves. With Pluto in last degrees of Capricorn it seems unlikely that it will continue on its current form.
However, the UK has a very Saturnine quality. Which the monarchy owes its longevity too.
So it may prevail if the people value Saturn’s positive attributes more than they dislike the negative.
Saturn’s higher ideals are really gorgeous. So I don’t doubt there are some who will understand that there could potentially be something very precious there is used properly.
There will also be some who will steadfastly refuse to bring this symbol into what they define as a “progressive future”.
*Watch this space as Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius.
As an American, I have no horse in this race. This is merely an interesting Symbolic and Archetypal Inquiry for me.
