AN OPPORTUNE CAPRICORN NEW MOON

A HIGHLY OPPORTUNE NEW MOON

The New Moon in a Capricorn is a power house, a real beauty. I’ve been loving the New Year's Astrology. Mainly because Mars is in his exaltation, and Venus is traveling through the Solar Plexus, ruled by Mars, really amping up our ability to align Self, with Divine Will. (find transmission on Solar Plexus further down in feed)

Let’s break the Astrology down a bit.

The New Moon takes place at 20 degrees Capricorn.

Capricorn is the CEO or Architect of the Zodiac. The sign of the Master Builder. Capricorn can best be understood through its energetic signature. Energy that coalesces around a central pole. Every single action in service to a central project. Hierarchy? Yes. Think; beehive. How everything in the beehive is working to assist the Queen Bee in her mission.

It’s helpful to understand both signs ruled by Saturn when seeking to fully comprehend Capricorn. While the closed system of Capricorn moves all their energy towards a singular, central, goal, Aquarius pushes energy out towards the edges. Away from the center. With Aquarius, we find that focus has been moved away from the closed system, to pull energy towards new frontiers, in undefined directions. It does this in service to progress. To movement. When the closed system is no longer working. When it has become stagnant we find an Aquarian action comes in to change the fundamental structures of power.

As it stands now, we live inside an old school Capricornian system. Structures of Hierarchy. Like a government that works in service to the agenda of the executive branch, or monarch. In an Aquarian system, we would be looking at structures that are far more egalitarian. Where power and energy is more dispersed. And people prioritize individuality over conformity.

This has been the main project of Pluto over the last 16 years. Revealing the shadows of centralized power, naturally dispersing energy towards the edges. With Pluto’s move into Aquarius, power will now begin to accumulate at the periphery. We can feel the active tension of this now. It's been part of the targeted Planetary Demolition project of the last few years.

All of these energetics are active in this first New Moon of the New Year.

A Capricorn New Moon, in a chart with a Capricorn Ascendent, conjunct Mars, suggests a collective project, in service to a central goal. A legacy goal, an ancestral goal. And a deep desire to align and move on it.

Consider this, alongside the fact that the New Moon squares the Karmic Nodes in Aries and Libra. This suggests that whatever project we undertake this month, may be a tie-over from a past life. Or something we failed to get off the ground in previous cycles. If you have a dream seed, or project that needs tending, this is an opportune time to put in the work.

With Pluto loosely conjunct the New Moon, perhaps some new piece of information that was previously hidden from view has been revealed. Like a missing puzzle piece. And we can now unlock whatever was blocking us before.

With both of the Planets of personal power activated by the chart, we have access to both "conscious intent", and the power that is forged in the dark. The raw grit and determination that comes on-line in the midst of an ego death. AKA, contact with our essence self. The self we meet in the Underworld. When all bets are off and we have nothing left to loose.

Which is where the trine to Uranus comes into play. Remember up top, when we talked about Aquarius. Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius. The Uranian archetype is the forward thinker, the Heretic, the Mad Scientist, the one who leaves that ever stifling closed system to forge new roads ahead.

So perhaps the project you are working on is something revolutionary? Something never before seen. Something you’ve been working on in exile. This is the time to apply the architectural energy of Capricorn, towards your Uranian Project.

In the Tarot, there are two theories about the Fool Card. The first is that the Fool is ruled by Uranus for precisely the reasons listed above. Uranus wants liberation. To individuate. In order to accomplish this, he must take the first step on an unknown journey.

The other hypothesis about the Fool is that he represents the sign of Aries. The first sign of the Zodiac. This aligns in the sense that the first sign can represent the “first step”. (Aries is ruled by Mars)

Both work, and either way we slice it, we are at a New Precipice, (New Year), with the energy pushing us to put our focus on a major project. One that is related to our soul’s overarching purpose here on the Planet.

It may require us to take a blind leap of faith, but with Mars on the Ascendent of the chart, the courage is there.

What I find most interesting about the New Moon is the “Degree Divination” by Elias Lonsdale.

"CAPRICORN 21

A stately old house in a ruined condition.

Karmic entanglement in patterns, syndromes, and worlds which have no future. Dwelling in worlds apart and worlds gone by. Intent upon salvaging the essence-spark of what was once there and claims your allegiance still. You are heavily drawn back in a virtual stupor or enchantment of following out a script, fulfilling a fate. Every line written ahead of time. Starchy and formal. Haunted, intrigued, bound up within what would seem to be no longer happening. Yet inwardly brooding all-pervasively upon the reverberations and echoes of what went wrong, of what was lost, of the severances and the tragedies. Doomed to stay in the lost places until Divine Spirit intervenes. Self-sentenced to limbo, half glad of it and half miserable and full of longings."

The whole chart seems to lay across this tension of “Legacy” with a giant question mark. Unfulfilled Karma grating on us. Something that hasn't been fulfilled that we are brooding over. And Movement. The chart supports an opportunity to finally gain traction on the inner turmoil this dynamic is creating.

Overall, this New Moon speaks to the opportunity to evolve some area of lives that has previously felt heavy or stagnant. Not just evolve, but to liberate ourselves from it through the fulfillment of Dharma.

All of this can be achieved through following our instincts and then building upon them.

Remember, instinct is connected to Divine Will. It's information that comes up through the lower chakras, or animal body. It is not the same as conscious intention. It's harnessing momentum.

If you are feeling stuck or stagnant, do what you can to create movement. Chaos and disarray are always a good sign to the alchemist. So don't fret if your schedule gets thrown off, or the ritual, linear ascpects of life seem out of sync. This is good news. The energy of the New Moon will harvest the new insight, and re-coalesce into something even better!
