Mary Magdalene a Feminist?

MARY MAGDALENE AND MODERN DAY FEMINISM?

Every year, in the month of July, in the sign of Cancer, women around the world tune into the Divine Feminine, either consciously, or subconsciously.

It begins by the Sun moving into the Temple of the Moon. The atmosphere and environment in the Northern Hemisphere begins to take on a slow, warm, distinctly yin signature.

Then the Sun makes His yearly conjunction with the Spiritual Sun of our Sun, Sirius, who is known to herald fertility in the Nile Valley and is related to both Isis, and Sothis.

And lastly, we have The Feast Day of Mary Magdalene.

As an Astrologer, I’ve long thought the day they have chosen to demarcate Her Feast is interesting. The day in which the Sun moves from Cancer, into the sign of Leo?

Leo has a strong association to Christ, the Sun King. And as we’ve established, Cancer to the Great Mother.

To place Mary’s Feast on this particular day, seems to be a nod to Divine Union. Which honestly tickles me to no end. It feels like an acknowledgement by the Vatican of the deeper mysteries of “Her” and her relationship with Yeshua.

If we accept that Mary is the modern progenitor of the famed “Rose Line”, or Lineage, then this necessitates we take a deeper look at “Divine Union”.

However, this essay is not going to be about that, it's going to be about what hinders us from embodying it.

Mary is NOT a feminist figure. At least not a hyper-modern feminist figure. In fact, I thoroughly believe if Mary came back today, she would shake her head, and wag her finger at what this particular “Feminism” has become.

There is a flavor of feminism I’ve been tracking. One that has divorced itself from its root, and like a weed is spreading quickly. There is no doubt that this form of “Feminism” has taken a dramatic turn towards an “anti-life” agenda in the name of “progress”.

This form of Feminism has lost all contact with the eco-systemic nature of the Feminine. Preferring freedom at all costs. It preaches tolerance, through a method of intolerance. It’s isolated rather than connective. It’s tribal rather than communal. It’s archetypal rather than embracing of the messy human.

We have accomplished the aims of the initial feminist movement, and secured equality under the law. We’ve lived through the sexual revolution, (with some new freedoms, AND some very steep costs to women).

This is where I want you to give me chance. I am all for Woman's lib. Don't get me wrong.

Currently these feminists seem to be some of the biggest advocates for upholding machine culture, which is moving us towards an ethos of transhumanism, and hyper- independence, that exists inside of a society that takes on the archetypal feel of the “Devouring Mother”. (surveillance state)

This new feminism is reactionary. Rather than full of meaning and purpose.

Merion West, who writes on the subject of reactionary politics says “one of the defining features of the reactionary outlook is how thin its conception of life’s meaning is, and this, in turn, explains why reactionaries tend to be so anxious about it all falling apart.”

What do we create when we are coming from anxiety and fear, rather than deep meaning and purpose? What kind of “movement” would this beget?

Spend any time on the internet, in any place the subject is adjacent to social justice cause, and you will find on the other side of the screen, a feminist attempting to “educate you” on not just the pre-approved language to participate in the conversation, but the pre-approved thoughts.

They require total unrelenting cognitive control.

Total allegiance to the movement, or be canceled.

The movement itself has merged with every other left leaning ideological cause. In other words, the movements have all sort of collapsed on each other. To be a member of one ideological group, means you must assume membership in them all. (Pluto in Aquarius)

What would Mary think about what the Feminist movement has become?

What would she think as she looks out on the state of the family? As she assesses the care of children? As she peeks in at the local public school? Or the local church? What would she think of our political discourse? The amount of separation and contention that exists in the collective? What would she think about women’s attitudes towards men? Or Marriage, for that matter?

And better yet, what would she think of the people who have taken up her name to further their own cause?

Mary’s name has long been used in association with defiance. She did defy the social norms of her day. But she didn’t brandish herself an outcast, or use inflammatory, hateful rhetoric to earn her place in history.

She moved with reverence and devotion. She embodied her own frequency with authority. She knew exactly what she was about.

So my guess is that she looks out at what feminism has become, and thinks the movement has lost its soul. Lost its connection to the Sacred. The Sacredness of the Feminine’s connection as portal between worlds.

Lost its connection to meaning. Lost the plot. Lost reverence for ourselves and each other. Lost its most important central tenant… WOMAN and all that falls in the realm of the FEMININE. Home, Family, Children, Partnership, Humans, Care, Community, Nurturance, Love, Devotion, Reverence. Which doesn’t mean we can’t be fierce in our application of protecting these things. It doesn’t mean we have to be soft, submissive, traditional wives. It means, we’ve lost sight of what all the “fighting” is for.

In our quest for total unrelenting freedom, we have, to some degree, become as men, in the larger collective. Inside this orientation we’ve unwittingly placed women as perpetually lower than men in our efforts to make a point about injustice. And therefore, we are perpetually their victims. Causing an unsolvable rift. Placing us at odds with the opposite gender.

We’ve lost our connection and even our PRIDE in the matrilineal line. Turned our back on our own legacy.

The matrilineal line, that Red Thread that travels back to the Original Mother, our Original Ancestor, is our Divine Inheritance.

We are not as Men. We are Women. Different.

If we don’t stand for this principle on Earth, who will? And what will the outcome be?

TOTAL UNRELENTING PROGRESS. TOTAL UNRELENTING DISEMBODIMENT.

This doesn’t feel like a “positive” to me. Instead it feels like society is losing touch with its soul. It is no longer connected to the greater meaning of incarnation.

So many of the issues we have today revolve around people in search of their soul. With such an unbalanced cerebral screen culture, how many parents are ensuring the ensoulment process is complete, and that connection to that soul is continuously touched on? I don’t believe we’d have such a complex issue with identity if we were more focused on the Divine being firmly anchored in the Human. That was and is still Mary Magdalene’s Ministry.

Mary, along with her partner, was a giant proponent of the “human”. The messy descent of the soul into the human body.

Yes, she was a stand against oppressive systems. Yes, she defied the social norms of her day. But she didn’t lose sight of that one thread. Soul in-body.

What we have today is not only devoid of soul. It leaves one hungry and searching for it.

We must begin to re-orient ourselves towards a life of meaning. Leave ideology behind, and like Mary, enter presence, and meet the isness of the moment, deeply. Profoundly.

Yes, suffering, oppression, and poverty, should all be met. It's not about turning our heads. A true Feminine-ism, would open a local kitchen where the woman would gather, cook, and fellowship together. In other words, the solution would be deeply hands-on and personal.

This feminine-ism would coalesce around deep care. And it would be simple.

She promotes “love in action”, “love in deed”, not “love professed” online, without reverence for diverging viewpoints. Not love with intolerance in the name of tolerance.

Not one that perpetuates separation.

She would absolutely advocate for Divine Union.

This Feast Day, as the Nodes move into Aries (Mars) and Libra (Venus). Let us put our focus on this polarity. Not to limit what is possible, but rather, to fully embody it.

What does it mean to have a female body? What does it mean to have reverence for the masculine? How do these poles feel when they meet? What is the purpose of this union? What could our shared ministry be?

If we aren’t in partnership, we can look at what we need to do to prepare ourselves for partnership. What can Mary teach us about being one half of the most infamous couples in history? How did she show up?

Aries and Libra is the relationship Axis. It asks us to look at how we show up in relationship. Where we project archetypal purity, where we over-assert our independence, and so much more. I’ll continue to talk about this in the month’s to come.

My larger point here is, it is no surprise to me this Holy Day stands at the gateway of the Nodal Axis shift. Let us meditate on Mary, and her brand of Feminine-ism, and how we might transform our partnerships into our own brand of Divine Union. One that works for us, in the modern day. And how we might better be a stand for women, and our ancestral heritage. Let us take up the work of Love, Care, Eros, Presence, and Embodiment.
