Earth Star Chakra Gateway.

Yesterday 11/24 Venus and The Moon met at the Last Underworld Gateway, The Earth Star Chakra.

This Chakra always, uniquely reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune. Stay with me here.

The Wheel of Fortune is about the cycle of incarnation, putting on a persona, accumulation, and pride, then being crushed by our worldly delusions of false power, and then being thrust back to the beginning again.

It’s about cycle’s of purification.

Purification, and of course, all of the heavily encoded nuances that come with that word have been of great interest to me this year.

These are some of the things I’ve been meditating on…

The way purity culture corrupts.

The fact that we need diversification and impurity to evolve.

That surely both purity, and impurity are natural, organic, and necessary. Ahh Paradox.

How what happens in fertile soil is a type of cross pollination between species, viruses, fungi, and bacteria. AKA NOT PURITY. And yet, cycles of rebirth are inherently purifying.

And to tie it all together, how Purity is connected to Libra, and Libra Rules this Leg of Venus’ Journey.

And so, here in the Earth Star Chakra, where the electro-magnetic field of the Mother, meets with our Field; Much like gestating in the warm womb of the Earth we are called to drop in with all of the disparate threads that weave together to create a life. To create a whole. Pieces of family, ancestry, lands, cultures, backgrounds, DNA, etc. It’s truly a miracle when we think of how precise this amalgamation has to be to create life, and how, in biology, the greater the genetic diversity between “Mom and Dad”, the stronger the resulting child.

The Earth Star Chakra Gateway is the part of the Inanna/Erishkagel Myth in which Inanna is brought back to life after having been hung on a meat hook. Now in her wholeness. She moves out of the Underworld, fully integrated. As the Goddess of both the Light and the Dark, the Upperworld and the Underworld. Embodying both Erishkagel and Inanna. Paradox. A new thing made stronger through heterogeneity.

composed of parts of different kinds; having widely dissimilar elements or constituents:

The party was attended by a heterogeneous group of artists, politicians, and social climbers.

Chemistry. (of a mixture) composed of different substances or the same substance in different phases, as solid ice and liquid water.

This is precisely why incarnation is such a mystery. Because the threads of our fate are as varied as our ancestors. And we are called to embody the paradox in of ALL of them. To trust it. AND LIVE it to the full.

This is the place of wholeness. Wholeness that is comprised of a million fragments of light and dark. And every other color across the spectrum. This is where we marvel at the multiplicity encased in the singularity "of us".

Where we celebrate chaos and paradox. And marvel at the interconnectedness between us and the “All”.

The challenge through this next leg of the Venus Cycle, is to parse out and live into, what is self, and not-self. What is true to our mandate here, what brings us closer to our personal mission, intention, and purpose for this incarnation. And what is just a shiny distraction.

Fittingly the Gateway Happened in Sagittarius, which corresponds to the the Temperance card in the Tarot. Temperance is part of the second line of the Major Arcana, that comes to free us from the artificial rigidness of the personality, and at the same time give us a glimpse of the greater truths within the Universe. “Temperance shows a person whose behavior is once again connected to the real world but in a way more meaningful than ever before. Temperance derives from derives from the latin word tempere which means to mix or combine properly” -Rachel Pollack, 78 Degrees of Wisdom.

This sounds eerily close to the themes of the Earth Star Chakra I covered above.

Why, because both Tarot, and Astrology are magical systems. And magic is real.

Throughout the next nine months, as we move from Gateway to Gateway, we will have an opportunity to examine this basic question. What is me-mine. And what isn’t? What is true for me? And what is conditioning, inherited beliefs, ancestral junk that isn’t in service etc.
