Evolution is a Trip

EVOLUTION IS A TRIP

There is an abundance of Uranian Energy in the collective. Not just because our latest Full Moon in Taurus was conjunct Uranus. But also because Uranus has been in a long time Trine to Pluto and Sextile to Neptune at the midpoint.

Mythological Shapes, and The Nervous System.

We’ve heard about Uranus causing earth shaking events, in his role as disrupter, and revolutionary. We’ve heard that he could shake up our financial system. And cause breakdown, or breakthrough, in our personal lives.

But one thing I haven’t heard a whole lot of people talk about is Uranus’ connection to our nervous system.

Because Uranus is the Modern Ruler of Aquarius, the sign Pluto just entered, and is making everything and everyone feel a bit unmoored and frenetic, I thought I’d take a moment to talk about one of my favorite subjects.

That is, the intersection of Archetypes, Mythological Shapes, and The Nervous System.

I wrote some time ago about my hypothesis that the capacity of our nervous system dictates the archetypal and mythological shape of our lives.

When our nervous system’s capacity to hold charge is thin it limits the archetypes we can embody.

When our nervous system’s capacity to hold charge is wide and deep, and we aren’t easily activated. When we have the ability to regulate ourselves, we can step into and embody a much more diverse set of archetypal and mythological shapes.

I personally think this phenomenon accounts for one’s ability to fulfill their dreams. Step into their destiny, and live a fulfilling life.

But how do we get from point a to point b? How do we expand our nervous system so that we can wear new archetypes and myths. I think there’s a quintessential stop along the way.

****

With the Uranian energy amplified by the Full Moon in Taurus (a place the moon just loves to be Full) It’s Sextile to Neptune in Pisces, the surreal, and Trine to Pluto in Aquarius, the Unconscious, I think we will all be given an opportunity to track our nervous system as we move through the frenetic, mind bending, energy of the moment.

Trines and Sextiles tend to suggest an easy flowing energy. Meaning the current between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, is moving unimpeded. However, when things are just easy, or NOT causing friction, they tend to hide a lot of shadow. A lot of unconscious contents.

This trine begs the question; what shadows are rattling under the surface, trying to shake themselves free?

Taurus is a highly somatic sign. A place where our exiled traumas tend to become somatized. Childhood/Ancestral echos locked in place.

Pluto relates to the underworld, or what has been crystallized in the subterranean layer. The energy of Aquarius may send a reverberation through our soma, breaking up this layer of sediment. Causing us to suddenly remember.

This somatic, remembering , in the waters or electricity of the body can be particularly painful if one doesn’t have a practice in place that leans towards “trusting fate”. Or a nervous system who finds high sensations “friendly”.

Pluto transits can elicit an orphan like motif to materialize in our lives.

Think about it. Demeter and Persephone, gleefully picking flowers in a lush meadow. Then Persephone suddenly kidnapped, and swept away to the Underworld.

There’s a unique interplay between Uranus and Pluto in this myth. Uranus relates to the Sudden. The kind of trauma that comes from shocking events. Certainly a kidnapping falls into the sudden and shocking.

Persephone then finds herself without the provision and protection of her parent. Helpless and alone in a whole new world. The Underworld. Not only is she “uncovered” and orphaned. She’s face to face with mythology’s quintessential (dark) “bad boy”. Ladies, we know this kind of man. Leather jacket, slicked back hair, cigarette tucked behind his ear. He’s bad, but it’s oh so erotic. The danger in it all.

How is this playing out for us up on the surface? Things that have laid dormant or been exiled in early life - or ancestrally - are resuscitated and burst forth. That edge between unbidden desire, and our “sinful nature”. The edge between organic and familiar, vs synthetic and new. It’s no wonder our nervous systems are over saturated right now.

One of the motif’s often found in the Orphan Story is the inherent sense of “badness” that Orphans carry. “What did I do to deserve this?” - “I must have been very bad to elicit this miserable fate”. “What have I done to conjur this betrayal”? Or on the flip side, we blame. “How could “they” have done this to ME?”

We “traumatized orphans” have a choice. To step towards the chaos and its creative potential. To loose our minds a little bit. Or to stiffen. Batten down the hatches, and seal the painful and “crazy” behind a steal trap door. To “freeze” the sensation out.

I am always a fan of hysteria in these moments. For us Orphans it is often passions that elicit the eruptions (mentioned above). Passions for love, connection, kinship, belonging, and mirroring. Co-regulation. Passion for the familiar. For Mother’s embrace. Such a release of this unbound life force can be the stuff of asylum admissions, but they can also be immensely creative.

Over the last few days, I’ve spent time trying to unwind the twinning of chaos and order. And rather attempted to “re-twin” Chaos with Eros.

This kind of experience described above, although in hindsight we can perceive its value… can be painful, frustrating, confusing, disorienting, and frightening. And rarely passes by without some form of sacrifice or loss. Willing or unwilling. Or some kind of confrontation with what is most brutal and unfair in life.

Embedded in this whole process is the breaking of the ego. Egoic fears, and egoic attachments. All must come apart for evolution on this scale to proceed.

We are encountering a massive opportunity to empty the personal psyche- to unload our unconscious contents, and approach life as an empty canvas.

It requires us to step out from our perceived orphan-hood. Whether it be our personal parents who abandoned and betrayed us, or the patriarchy/failing hierarchies that have let us down.

Before we regulate our nervous systems, we must grieve the pain of lost dependency. (Order:Capricorn)

We are in this moment now. The moment of “loosing our heads a bit”. Of facing something that may appear like a crisis or chaos.

How we respond means everything. How much permission do we have for crazy, for hysteria? This is a direct mirror towards how much permission we have for them feminine. A literal barometer.

On the other side of this chaos is freedom and Eros. The Door to the Third Temple Era is opening.

Will we walk through? And will we give permission for the procession through the gates to be wild, passionate, painful and messy? Much like the parade at Carnival. We are moving into a New Age
