Full Moon in Aquarius

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS

I had so much to say about the Full Moon this month. Aquarius Full Moons can be like that. In the Mythic Tarot, by Liz Greene, Aquarius is related to Pandora's box. I certainly felt like I opened one when I began to write. Instead of a frenetic Full Moon Report, I scaled my write up back. And I am trusting my collogues to cover some of the more traditional themes.

Mythological Shapes, and The Nervous System.

We’ve spoken a whole lot about Uranus in Taurus this year. And for good reason. The North Node and Uranus were scheduled to meet in June which only happens once every 15 years or so.

We’ve heard about Uranus causing earth shaking events, in his role as disrupter, and revolutionary. We’ve heard that he could shake up our financial system. And cause breakdown, or breakthrough, in our personal lives.

But one thing I haven’t heard a whole lot of people talk about is Uranus’ connection to our nervous system.

Because Uranus is the Modern Ruler of Aquarius, and the Full Moon is conjunct Saturn, the traditional ruler, I thought I’d take an opportunity to talk about a subject close to my heart.

That is, the intersection of Archetypes, Mythological Shapes, and The Nervous System.

I wrote some time ago about my hypothesis that the capacity of our nervous system dictates the archetypal and mythological shape of our lives.

When our nervous system’s capacity to hold charge is thin it limits the archetypes we can embody.

When our nervous system’s capacity to hold charge is wide and deep, and we aren’t easily activated. When we have the ability to regulate ourselves, we can step into and embody a much more diverse set of archetypal and mythological shapes.

I personally think this phenomenon accounts for one’s ability to fulfill their dreams. And live a fulfilling life.

With the Full Moon’s conjunction to Saturn, Squaring the North Node, Uranus, Mars, Stellium in Taurus, I think we will all be given an opportunity to track our nervous system as we move through the frenetic energy of this Full Moon portal.

Squares tend to provoke. Saturn can act like a wall, and shows us what our limitations are. While the combo of Uranus and Mars propels or compels. The energetics of this square feels something like a projectile hitting a barrier or vice versa, restriction acting upon something that wants to move.

The Full Moon being at the bending of the Nodes says something about where we long to take our story. Perhaps an edit that needs to happen.

To tie this all in with our nervous system and the Full Moon in Aquarius, I mean to suggest that; the place where the world bumps up against our triggers (boundaries and limitations born from trauma) is likely to be stimulated, and we will be able to observe our nervous system’s capacity to respond.

Find Uranus in your chart, it may tell you something about your traumas, the mythological shape of your nervous system, and how it interacts with the world. I know mine does.

I have Uranus conjunct Venus in Scorpio. One of my greatest traumas was generated from a taboo around sex (Scorpio territory)

My own mother could not keep me, because she was young and unmarried. So I was placed for adoption, as an unwanted child. This wound festered in the realm of betrayal, as much it did abandonment.

Most of my pain along with the mythological shape of my life, comes from this Madonna/Whore split. And it is triggered most often in deep relationships with other people. Primary relationships. There is connection (Venus) then Rupture (Uranus). And while I may not have been able to change a piece of my fate that has already come to pass. I can shift how I am able to respond to it. Giving me greater range in what is possible for me here. Allowing me to step out of this split.

With Uranus, it’s not just where he is in our chart that reveals a story about our nervous system. We need to understand where he is in the current sky story as well, because Uranus will continue to inform us of where we are activated and teach us about our ability to respond. Each sign he inhabits, each aspect he makes, provides us with valuable information.

For instance, he is in Taurus, which speaks to us of our physical body, and our relationship to our resources.

And he has been squaring Saturn these last two years, which has been brilliant for revealing this dynamic pull between containment (safety) and breakthrough (expanding capacity).

My hypothesis placed against the sky story, has helped illuminate where I feel called to expand my capacity to hold more. Where I can push the boundaries of my nervous system beyond what it could previously accommodate. And where healthy safety lives. Safety that doesn’t translate to hiding, or distracting myself. But rather is nourishing, and regulating.

It’s allowed me to step into new shapes, as teacher, speaker, and writer. It’s also helped me to expand the shapes I previously inhabited. And it can help you do the same. At the very least, it can help to bring this whole phenomenon into our awareness.

And so, my hope for you, is this Full Moon in Aquarius will highlight something for you around the way you are wired. And the archetypal and mythological shapes you long to embody. By having these awarenesses, we can then map the disparity between the two and see where our work is.
