Venus and The Sun in Leo

VENUS AT THE SOLAR GATE AND HER CONNECTION WITH THE SUN

I’ve been in discussion recently about how we actually gain gnosis through childlike innocence and wonder. How consciousness expands when we live in an orientation of experiment, play, and inquiry. This is where synchronicity springs forth and leads us along a path of real truth.

This is, in part, the medicine and message of Venus in Leo.

Here she is the dynamic feminine who has the capacity to respond with “movement”.

There is something about staying in inquiry, NOT crystallizing around the need for certainty, that is part of her magic. It allows us to (g)know things.

The Sun as a symbol in Hermetics denotes consciousness, and elightenment. The solar path is the ascendant path, the path to Transcendence.

Though Venus, even in her perfected love, can never leave the body. She needs the vessel of the body to be fully expressed in her brilliance on Earth, in ways the Sun does not. So it’s the path of ascendency and consciousness that stays deeply connected to the root.

As Venus spends the next four months in Leo, AND seeds her new cycle here gifting us a 19 Month Venus/Leo overtone, the invitation is a reconnection to erotic innocence. To meet the emergent moment with childlike wonder. To live the questions as Rilke Says. To embody Light.

To connect to that indestructible, eternal part of us, and “back” it with authority. That heart flame, or inner pearl, that is detached from identity and things of this world.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” -Rilke

Damascena Tanis

Damascena is an Archetypal Astrologer, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and The Facilitator of the Transformative Journey through the Mandala of Venus’ Wisdom, called “Sky Dancer”.

She is a passionate devotee of the ever unfolding mystery. As an expert observer, a trait she developed as an only child, she regards herself as both a student of life, and decoder of the cosmos.

Skilled at recognizing invisible patterns, and picking up on subtle shifts in the collective, she gets a thrill from uncovering and revealing the hidden threads that are woven together to create our paradigm.

Her passion for this existential detective work aligns well with her unique approach to one on one client work, as she helps others to discover the building blocks of their archetypal blueprint, and mythic overtones. She does not believe that astrology is static, and therefore works with clients to develop strategies and practices that allow them to transcend challenging aspects of their natal chart.

She lives on the Shores of Lake Erie with her husband, four kids, and Cat, Oscar (the grouch).

These days, when she isn’t interpreting a natal chart, or translating the stars for her astrology blog, you can find her engaging in one of her favorite pandemic pastimes, unraveling her inner “good girl”, cultivating the ability to thrive in the deep, dark, unknown, or playing her favorite game of identifying fun paradoxes called “two things are true at once”.
