Venus In Virgo
In Virgo, we see Venus pointing us towards the mystery that underlies all of life.
Wanting us to nurture the earth, in the same way, we nurture our children. She is looking at the patterns and connections in nature to see how she can solve complex problems that harness the organic power and energy of the earth, rather than extracting from her.
Venus here is WHOLE, and ushers us into the Mystery School Doctrine of ONENESS. Beyond the veils of illusion that have enrolled us in any ideas of separation.
She is the keeper of Women’s Mysteries, and initiates us into the cyclical nature of time. She is the Archetype of the Priestess, handing us the keys to Unus Mundus if we want them.
In traditional Astrology, Venus in Virgo, is said to be in her “Fall”.
Virgo, is the sign that sees women as sacred, and sovereign, whole and complete unto herself, therefore, not outwardly focusing her love on another. Not nurturing a man or a child, as the patriarchal system of Traditional Astrology originally dictated.
They had a very black and white concept of women, as either wife or mother, so it makes sense that they would label Venus in this sign “fallen”. How apt we explore the reclamation of the Virgin on Mary Magdalene's feast day.
More modern schools of Astrology have worked to broaden the archetypal multivalence of the Planetary Pantheon. Today, as Venus has moved into Virgo, we are fortunate to live in a time that we are the revolutionaries, ushering in the Ascendency of the Feminine.
