MARS OPPOSITE URANUS

I want to place this one on the dashboard of our collective awareness as we move into the upcoming eclipse portal.

If we recall, Uranus, was activated by The New Moon in Scorpio, so everything happening in the immediate is being colored by this mobile, changeable, intense, revolutionary, Promethean Archetype.

In addition, Uranus is in the house of the Feminine, and in Taurus, she is slow, static, Womb like, heavy, and gross. Uranus can have trouble gaining traction here. But when He does, he blows with the force of a mega ton bomb.

When he comes into contact with Mars, who activates, and initiates, but also inflames, and exacerbates; they create a literal live wire of irreverent, shocking, forceful, boundary shattering, possibly violent, electrically charged atmospheres.

To put it succinctly, Uranus’ energetic action is UP & OUT, while Mars’ is to penetrate. It pierces, and then irritates, subsequently causing heat and friction, compelling us to action.

Together they may create so much sensation that the energy becomes difficult to hold. In part, this is why people with a strong Mars can be dominating. It’s an attempt to manage a constitution that’s constantly being fed by an open current. These natives are challenged to offload their excess energy efficiently, or get burned.

I don’t mean for this to sound alarming, but rather to get the energetic signature pinned on our radar. That way when it comes up, we can feel into whether it’s organic or cosmic. As humans, we are absolutely meant to honor all organic emotions. But it may be useful to contextualize things for us if instead we find that we are merely being triggered by the psychic soup of the collective.

The evolutionary intention of this signature is to help exaggerate the places that our nervous system goes out of range around themes of personal sovereignty, and matters we hold as indistinguishable from who we believe we really are.

We are challenged to watch the edges and boundaries of what our system can hold, and find healthy ways to discharge the current that doesn’t involve offloading on others or ourselves.

This kind of insight into the capacity of our system is priceless. It allows us to see where we are limited and need to expand. It enlightens shadow material, forcing it up to the surface to be integrated and cleared. And it shows us where we become dissociated, tempted to numb and distract ourselves in an attempt to bypass the sensation.

It’s important that we don’t abandon ourselves here if we find ourselves off the map with this particular influence. All “feeling” is valid. All action/belief is not. While this aspect is active, be sure to acknowledge the feelings without judgment. Hold off on the rush to make sense of things with the mind. But instead pause, and apply that old adage to respond not react. Attending to our inner child with love and tenderness is imperative over the next week.

Damascena Tanis

Damascena is an Archetypal Astrologer, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and The Facilitator of the Transformative Journey through the Mandala of Venus’ Wisdom, called “Sky Dancer”.

She is a passionate devotee of the ever unfolding mystery. As an expert observer, a trait she developed as an only child, she regards herself as both a student of life, and decoder of the cosmos.

Skilled at recognizing invisible patterns, and picking up on subtle shifts in the collective, she gets a thrill from uncovering and revealing the hidden threads that are woven together to create our paradigm.

Her passion for this existential detective work aligns well with her unique approach to one on one client work, as she helps others to discover the building blocks of their archetypal blueprint, and mythic overtones. She does not believe that astrology is static, and therefore works with clients to develop strategies and practices that allow them to transcend challenging aspects of their natal chart.

She lives on the Shores of Lake Erie with her husband, four kids, and Cat, Oscar (the grouch).

These days, when she isn’t interpreting a natal chart, or translating the stars for her astrology blog, you can find her engaging in one of her favorite pandemic pastimes, unraveling her inner “good girl”, cultivating the ability to thrive in the deep, dark, unknown, or playing her favorite game of identifying fun paradoxes called “two things are true at once”.
