Inner Planetary Gnosis

My journey to Astrology was born through my work as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. In our second year of classes we were given the choice to specialize in either diagnostics, or the digestive system. I chose diagnostics. Inside that track of my education, I learned that in Classical Ayurveda, Astrology was used to help practitioners diagnose and treat their clients. And the planets themselves were related to the Chakra System, which as an already certified Reiki Master and Sound/Energy Healer, was an area of deep intrigue to me.

I instantly fell in love with this in depth approach to understanding the body, the soul, the cosmos, and how it related to the experiences that were manifesting in my field.

With me as ground zero, I took my studies well beyond the realm of my introductory module of Astrological Diagnostics. It instantly felt like a path to deep inner gnosis had opened up for me. A simple yet extraordinarily profound journey of awakening began to unfold.

As an Adoptee, Ayurvedic Practitioner, and Archetypal Astrologer, the thing I am in service too, my medicine in this lifetime, is to help others follow a similar path to cultivate their own “Deep Inner Gnosis”. The way these modalities weave together provides a beautiful template of soul exploration through Archetypes, Energy, & Frequency (embodiment).

Four Pillars

The Spiritual Development Pathway that I teach has four Pillars

These Four Pillars integrate nicely with each Chakra’s Four Functions

Receive -Discovery

Express- Embodiment

Architecture

7 Chakras are the Architecture of the Soul

Did you know that the planets live within and act on specific energy centers within the body? We can cultivate Inner Planetary Gnosis through building a relationship with the Chakras.

“Jung seems to have considered the chakras as symbolic representations of levels of operation of the psychic force, and to have studied them, mostly if not exclusively, as having a psychological reality and meaning.

The occultist, on the other hand, believing as he does in an "astral body" pervading and surrounding the physical organism and acting as an "electro-magnetic field," usually sees in the chakras actual — though essentially not physical whirls of electro-magnetic or vital energy. Each whirl can be related to one of the basic functions of the total organism, to a primary organ or group of organs, and can be seen to serve as the dynamic foundation for psychic activities.” - Dane Rudhyar

The Chakras

The Chakra Energy Centers are the point of connection between our body and the Cosmos.

The Chakra’s are usually found in a combination of three states. Balanced, Deficient, or Excessive. The act of balancing is what helps us cultivate inner gnosis. Balancing is a dynamic act that coalesces around chaos and is in an active relationship to the Cosmos.

Balance allows us to channel Universal Energy through our bodies. The practice of balance is active and dynamic. It is not static and stagnant. It is a relationship of finding resonance.

Deficiency- is an avoidant pattern or strategy

Excessive- is a compensation pattern or strategy

Earth Star Chakra - South Node of the Moon ( the point of soul manifestation on Earth) The Great Cosmic Mother (Spider Woman, The Three Fates) First Gateway of Ascent

1st - Root- Earth - Saturn/Uranus - Capricorn/ Aquarius - Creator Preserver Destroyer (The Dakini) Second Gateway of Ascent

Deficient, Pull away from the physical plane, live in your head, always in your thoughts, feelings of unsafety, financial struggle

Excessive, too much body mass, (to much earth) attached to security, sluggish, dense, it’s hard to get your energy going.

“The Root Chakra is the symbol of the blossoming of the apparent everything, from the central dot, bindu, or flower bud. Theis dimension-less dot represents the white hole into the void of no-thing, which is the womb of everything. It is the timeless and without location, so it is not born and does not die; there is no place else to go. There is no inside or outside.

Capricorn as the most mature of the earth signs, represents a full cycle of grounded experience. Aquarius brings the awakening energy of spring and the initiation of a new cycle and a new age.  Capricorn and Aquarius form a semi-sextile aspect. The primal or root duality of the planets Saturn and Uranus strongly influence the meaning of the root chakra. The meeting of Saturn, representing the conservation, and Uranus representing innovation, in this chakra involes an important shift from downward-distributing channel (pingala) to the upward accumulating channel (ida).

The cupbearer’s drink of ambrosia that brought immortality to the divinities represents the wisdom of nonduality, which is just “this, as it is”. A drink from this cup results in the imaginary death of that which has never been-the separate self. This is the true dawning of the Age of Aquarius-absolute freedom, for no separate thing. “ -Frederick Hamilton Baker

*Gateways are approximate, and based on the actual astronomical events taking place in the sky.

* There are a variety of planetary and archetypal combinations that can be expolored through the chakra system through the principle of what we call “multivalence”.

*It is important to note that chakras do not correspond to anatomy, but rather to the energy centers.

Directionality of The Chakra System

The Chakra system is bi-directional. Not only is it a path to soul ascendency, but a current of manifestation.

When we work from the Root, to the Crown, this is the path of liberation, with the direction of transcendence.

When we work from the Crown to the Root, this is the path of manifestation. Bringing an idea down from the cosmos into form. The direction of immanence.

Ladder to higher consciousness Root-Crown

Descending into Manifestation and embodiment  (Idea comes down into manifested matter).

Ascending and Descending Currents create the Toroidal Field of Balance and Full Embodiment.

Descending is Immanence- Current of healing and manifestation. Bringing consciousness to earth

“Gnosis” uses the Venus Cycle as a template for the work. The Program blends Astrology, & Archetypal Expression, with Energetic Mastery, & Frequency/Embodiment to help the participant generate a profound level of Inner Gnosis

Damascena Tanis

Damascena is an Archetypal Astrologer, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and The Facilitator of the Transformative Journey through the Mandala of Venus’ Wisdom, called “Sky Dancer”.

She is a passionate devotee of the ever unfolding mystery. As an expert observer, a trait she developed as an only child, she regards herself as both a student of life, and decoder of the cosmos.

Skilled at recognizing invisible patterns, and picking up on subtle shifts in the collective, she gets a thrill from uncovering and revealing the hidden threads that are woven together to create our paradigm.

Her passion for this existential detective work aligns well with her unique approach to one on one client work, as she helps others to discover the building blocks of their archetypal blueprint, and mythic overtones. She does not believe that astrology is static, and therefore works with clients to develop strategies and practices that allow them to transcend challenging aspects of their natal chart.

She lives on the Shores of Lake Erie with her husband, four kids, and Cat, Oscar (the grouch).

These days, when she isn’t interpreting a natal chart, or translating the stars for her astrology blog, you can find her engaging in one of her favorite pandemic pastimes, unraveling her inner “good girl”, cultivating the ability to thrive in the deep, dark, unknown, or playing her favorite game of identifying fun paradoxes called “two things are true at once”.
